Our new Exhibition which is proving very popular is called 'Something Borrowed Something Blue'

An exhibition of Weddings in Bloxham over the centuries with lots of old wedding group pictures, many of them named. Also Wedding memorabilia with wedding presents and bottom drawer collections.

Also displayed round the Museum are about 21 posters giving details of old wedding traditions. One of them is “CHOOSING THE DAY”  which reads  Monday for Wealth, Tuesday for Health, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses Saturday for no luck at all. Although most weddings take place on a Saturday. It was considered unlucky in the past. Fridays were also considered unlucky, particularly Friday 13th

 

   
   

Museum opening times are as follows:

The Museum now opens twice a week, every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm to 5.30pm*. Also we are open every Bank Holiday Monday - also from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

 
   

* These dates go on until November 15th. When the clocks go back an hour at the end of October we will close at 4.30pm

 
       
   

Admission Prices

A mere 50p per head and 10p for children - this price has not changed in 20 years! Children will get a quiz to do included in their entrance fee which not only gives them something to do but helps their education and learning.

Location

The Museum is in the ground floor of The Court House which is immediately south of the Parish Church. There are brown signposts at each end of Church Street to help guide you to us!
