Bloxham Guides / Brownies / Rainbows

Bloxham Brownies are Back!

1st Bloxham Brownies re-started in the village at Easter. Being a Brownie is all about having loads of fun! To be a Brownie you have to be a girl between 7 and 10 years old. We provide activities that challenge the Brownies to do their best! The meetings are full of games, activities and working for badges all of which the Brownies help suggest themselves.

‘Guiding’ began at the Scouts’ first rally, at the Crystal Palace in 1909. Founder, Robert Baden-Powell was faced with a small group of girls, representing hundreds of others, who insisted they wanted to be Scouts too.

In an age when skirts were ankle length and  young ladies never ran, the idea of girls being involved in camping, hiking and similar activities received a mixed response. Angry critics denounced ‘girl scouting’ as a ‘mischievous new development’.

Bloxham Brownies meet on a Monday evening at Bloxham Primary School from 6pm till 7.15pm in term time. If anyone has any skills that they would like to come and share with the Brownies then please get in touch.

For any more information or to add your daughter to the waiting list, please contact either Beccy Clacy (Barn Owl) 720694 or Jayne Cousins (Snowy Owl) 721591
