NEW BUS SERVICE A new service called 'The Connection' was introduced on November 10 to assist the residents who wish to use the X59 service to and from Oxford. The service is available Monday to Saturday, but funding has not been sufficient to allow a late evening or Sunday service. A 12 seater MPV operated by Walters Limousines will travel from Adderbury along the Milton Road in Bloxham to the Barfords and Hempton to link up with the X59 in Deddington. The return journey will run in the opposite direction. There are no bus stops - passengers only need to find a safe place to wait and hail the driver. Passengers can purchase one ticket from the Connection driver that will take them to oxford. the fare from Bloxham will be £3.10, £4.30 return. Children are eligible for discounted fares and Cherwell bus passes permit travel at half fare. If The Connections vehicle is late arriving in Deddington, the X59 will wait and, similarly, in the other direction; The Connection will wait. The bus shelter at Deddington has been upgraded with improved passenger waiting facilities. Also, by December it is hoped that an electronic information board will be installed to advise passengers of undue delays. A leaflet giving further information and showing the timetable can be obtained from Pat Angel, 720186. |
